Project Description

Experimental data on the adsorption of rare earth elements on kaolinite at a range of pH and ligand concentrations, intended to provide constraints on REE mineralisation in secondary and weathering environments. Experiments conducted at pH 2, 4, 6 and 8, in dilute nitric acid and in the presence of chloride, sulphate and carbonate. Experiments were conducted with Imerys light kaolinite (a processed industrial mineral) and with a natural weathering derived kaolinite form Madagascar.
